The Innovation Atlas is framed less as a finished book than as an open map — a running record of where creativity and invention are taking root around the world. Rather than studying a single country or a single leader, the project sets out to chart cities and regions one at a time, tracking the ideas, institutions, and people that turn a place into a hub for new thinking.

The idea of a "Global Creativity Hub" sits at the centre of the project: the notion that no single city holds a monopoly on innovation, and that the next great creative centre could be anywhere — provided the right ingredients of talent, infrastructure, and ambition come together. The Atlas exists to find and document those places as they emerge, rather than only celebrating the ones that have already arrived.

Discovery, not declaration — an atlas that grows one city at a time.

True to its name, the project is presented as a work permanently in progress — new collaborative centres are added as they're identified, each one plotted alongside the last to build a living picture of where creative and technological energy is concentrating next. It complements the more India-focused arguments elsewhere in this collection by taking the same question — what makes a place genuinely creative? — and asking it on a global scale.

Note: this project tile is still in early, placeholder form on the site — the page above is a preview of the idea rather than a finished publication.
